I came in on Sunday evening, and to my delight it was not that crowded. I was able to place an order for a catfish dinner with dressing and collard greens. Last minute I added on a lemonade, and Mac n cheese that was brought to me before my full order was even done. For $21 this was a steal!!!!!!! The dressing was not flavored, and crispy enough to my liking, and I do appreciate 2 catfish filets instead of the singular because I'm spoiled but everything was good. Big cornbread included!!!

Delicious everything was good. I got the country fried steak with mac & cheese and green beans. The steak had no gristle and the breading was tasty. The green beans were delicious with turkey juice. The mac & cheese was very rich with Lacey melted cheese all the way through. They have Pepsi products unfortunately but as often happens, big red saves a day. my meal also came with corn bread. which was well balance between sweet and savory and they have butter upon request not junk margarine, but real butter. My mother got the catfish dinner. Her salad was large and very fresh. It came with a hard boiled egg, half and looked really nice. She said the greens were well flavored just like my green beans, and the catfish was a good portion and tasted great as well. My friend, she ordered a burger nothing wrong there either toppings were nice. She thought the bun was may be a little heavy but that's a very minor issue overall. I fully recommend this place and intend to eat here often.

I could barely take this picture before I inhaled this food. The ride home was torture. But the wait was soooo worth it. This was so good! Had the catfish with spaghetti, a side of Mac and cheese. Partner had the 4 wing dinner with fries and green beans. All amazing! Ladies at the front counter were delightful! Will be back!

In the heart of Louisville (Louville) is a local favorite and the food is amazing, off the w chain, slap yo mama good. Out here for a sad occasion and discovers this little jewel. Soul food at its best. $10 specials with free small drinks, on Sundays. Lots of food cooked to order like fried chicken. Sides like Black Grandmama's use to make. I ordered the "Smothered Pork Chops", my wife 2 pc fried chicken. Sides were greens, Mac n cheese and rice with gravy. Tears actually came to my eyes as I enjoyed this amazing food. Dine in, or To-Go, it's all good. So y'all come on down to "Big Hops", ya won't be disappointed. Michael C. Georgetown, Texas

Oh boy what a treat! My husband and I were attending a festival today downtown and decided to seek out something interesting for lunch. My hubby had a friend who had highlighted this place so we decided to give it a try. Saturday afternoon was pretty quiet but it assume there is a lot of business weekdays as it is located next to the entrance to Brown-Forman and other businesses for lunchtime. The soup special was smoked turkey and cabbage. We split a large bowl. It was more wonderful than expected. In addition to large turkey chunks and cabbage, it had small potato cubes, green peas, carrots in a delightful broth. I ordered fried catfish off the menu with sweet potato casserole and Mac and cheese as sides. The catfish was perfectly crispy with homemade, yes, homemade tarter sauce on the side. That and a little Franks red hot and I was happy. Sweet potatoes hit the spot and provided the sweet to the savory. And the Mac and cheese was made with real cheese! Delish. My husband ordered off the Saturday specials menu and got rib tips, green beans and potato salad. Rib tips were delicious and plentiful. Green beans were southern style and potato salad was the mustard variety. We just basically shared all our food and had a delicious and filling meal. Now on to the couch for football and food coma! The staff was wonderful. Big Hopps himself stopped by several times to check on us. Our waitress was friendly and extremely attentive to our needs. Y'all need to get over here! Give Big Hopps some love and he will return the favor with some of the best southern food around!!

The best fried green tomatoes I have ever eaten. They were good texture and fried to perfection. Sauce was delicious and complemented the tomatoes. The pulled pork was a sweet barbecue, paired well with the potato salad. Potato salad appeared to have been made in house. It was made with fresh vegetables. Fried Jack had a wonderful coating, but I am not a big fan of Jack fish. Greens were well seasoned. I would recommend eating here.

Best home cooking, soul food in town. The fried chicken is the best. You get two big grilled boneless pork chops that are really tender and have great rub on the. I love the sweet potato casserole and Mac n cheese. Give it a try. You'll make it a regular go to for great food and friendly service. Really nice people!
